Introduction :
The cultural heritage of our country is of immense value to the whole of humanity. Unfortunately in our eagerness to ape the western culture, an average Indian prefer to be blissfully unaware to this tradition bequeathed to us by our forefathers. Should we not derive inspiration from the fabulous contributions our forefathers have made by providing us this rich fund of knowledge? Why we have succumbed to this sort of decadence instead of being proud of our ancient past? For true seekers reasons are not that difficult to find. Long periods of subjugation by the descendants of Central Asian invaders followed by the long colonial rule by the British sapped our energy and made us victims of a slavish mentality. Progress of modern science and our inability to keep pace with the advanced countries pushed us backwards. Thrust given by the ruling community for English education, prompted us to view what is of Indian origin with contempt. The national movement for regaining freedom and the subsequent winning of the same, kindled some hopes for revival. But unfortunately even after 62 years of independence, our attitude is still sluggish for honoring our cultural heritage. All that belong to the rich tradition is attributed to belong to the Hindu religion, rather than considering them as part of our national ethos. Percolation of party politics into all walks of life and the eagerness of politicians to lure the minority communities having their eyes on the vote banks eluded the horizons for a revival of our lost glory. Though belonging to different communities and castes we forgot the fact that we are primarily Indians having a common culture and tradition. The fact that many learned people of the west are now acknowledging our precious contributions, do not deter many of us from disregarding what is of Indian origin. That is why still the majority feel reluctant to proudly own and propagate precious branches of knowledge which are unique and bear the stamp of our cultural heritage.

Yoga Vidya is one of the ancient branches of knowledge originated in India. During which period this branch of knowledge developed and flourished is not exactly known. It is said that the Supreme Lord “Parameswara” himself had handed down to us this knowledge for Self realization. Our ancient teachers group all branches of knowledge in to two broad categories. They are “Para Vidya” and “Apara Vidya”. Those belonging to Para Vidya imparts Spiritiual knowledge. Spiritual knowledge and its practice leads one ultimately to Self realization. A solid example for this is “Vedanta Darsanam”. Contrary to this Apara Vidya that helps to equip one for the worldly life.

Now the crucial question is this. Yoga Vidya belongs to which category mentioned above? In fact Yoga Vidya cannot belong exclusively to any one category mentioned above. Similar is the case with Tantra Vidya too. Both Yoga Vidya and Tantra Vidya ultimately makes one capable of Self Realisation or God Realisation. But unlike Vedanta both Yoga Vidya and Tantra Vidya are not exclusively intended for imparting spiritual knowledge and through that to the goal of Self Realisation. They also contribute immensely for making the material life of a person rich, meaningful, healthy and pleasant.. We have to use two technical words in Sanskrit to describe the special nature of Yoga Vidya and Tantra Vidya. The words are “Sreyas” and “Preyass”. “Sreyas” indicates spiritual wealth where as “Preyass” indicates material wealth. Yoga Vidya and Tantra Vidya contributes both to “Sreyas” and “Preyas”.

The word Yoga originated from its root word in Sanskrit called “Yuge”. This word means ‘Union’. Union with whom is the moot question. The answer is : “with the ultimate reality”. From time immemorial the inquisitive nature of human mind sought the secret behind creation of this universe. Focused thinking in this direction resulted in the dawning of wisdom. What we call intuition is the source of all wisdom and knowledge. It was through this intuition resulting from focused thinking that all branches of knowledge developed. When this method is utilized in the appropriate manner, we will come to know that we can achieve immense power which will otherwise be termed as supernatural. Yoga Vidya claims that human beings can through systematic practice attain that level of God Consciousness breaking all kinds of limitations normally attributed to human beings. A clear cut plan and procedure has been developed by the teachers of this technique towards this goal. One need not even be a believer of this creed at first, but one should be ready to earnestly practice the guidelines given by the teacher. To that extent one should have an open mind. In fact we know that this is the method of study in modern science too. Unlike in some religions here the experience comes first and belief only follows.

In this context it is pertinent to go through the definition to Yoga Vidya given by one of the ancient exponents of this technique by name Yajnavalkya. The definition in Sanskrit is given below:

“ Samyogo Yoga Ithuktho Jeevatma Paramatmano” ,
meaning the union of Jeevathma(Individual Soul) with Paramatma ( Universal Soul) is what is called Yoga. Such a joining is also called “Mokhsha” or “Nirvikalpa Samadhi” in Sanskrit. In ancient branches of knowledge like Yoga Vidya there is a practice in using the same terminology for the path as well as the goal. This practice is mainly followed in spiritual sciences and philosophical studies. Similarly one who is just initiated into the technique of Yoga Vidya as well as one who is an exponent of the technique, both are called by the name “Yogi”.

Now a days certain aspects of this technique are selectively taken and taught in a haphazard manner highlighting some minor benefits derived from the same purposefully keeping its main objectives in the dark. They are actually commercializing the holy knowledge by their narrow minded approach. Those who resort to such teaching though claim themselves to be imparting Yoga Vidya in fact are doing a disservice to our ancient Rishis and to humanity at large. Disregarding the main objects or aims of the technique can never be called Yoga; rather it is called by the name “kuyoga’ or “yogabhasa”.

What for is Yoga Vidya ?
Yoga Vidya is practiced for the attainment of the following :-Total Development of the personality
For the building up of an enlightened society
For total success in life
As a complete solution to all difficulties
Now we can analyse each of the above items one by one1.Total Personality Development :

By the word personality what we mean is the totality of the physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual talents of a person. So the development contemplated should cover all these four aspects. The character, habits, knowledge, attitude and behaviour of the person concerned , all should get equal importance. In fact the development should integrate the achievements made by the individual in all the above aspects. Since Yoga is recognized as a good system of physical exercise, much need not be mentioned regarding this. Moreover we cannot over emphasise the importance of the physical body of a person in the pursuit of studies of subjects like Yoga Vidya. This body is a critical equipment for the attainment of even “Mokhsha”. Hence the body should be in a trim and healthy condition. Here a little explanation is needed in describing the term “ healthy condition”. It is not merely the absence of any disease or diseases, the crucial question is whether one is enjoying what is called “body bliss” which is our essential nature. Proper practice of Yoga Vidya guarantees body bliss.

According to yoga a human being has a physical body which we can see, touch and feel and is termed in Sanskrit as “Sthoola Sareera”. Apart from that there are others layers to this body which are subtle and cannot be touched or seen as the sthoola sareera. This is called “Sookshma sareera” in Sanskrit. The sookshma sareera has got three layers such as Pranamaya kosa, Manomaya Kosa, and Vijnanamaya Kosa. The word Kosa does not mean the cell described in modern science. These layers can be experienced as we advance more on the path of yoga vidya. Of this pranamaya kosa is the life force, manomaya kosa is connected with the mind and vijnanamaya kosa is connected with the intellect. Then apart from the Sthoola sareera and Sookshma sareera there is another level as causal body or “Karana Sareera” in Sanskrit. The layer linked with the Karana Sareera is called “Anadamaya Kosa”. Our true nature is this blissful state. Genuine and steady practice of Yoga will make the individual constantly aware and experience this blissful state day in and day out. This is the highest state yoga vidya guarantees to a true practioner

It is to be understood that all round personality development should bring under its purview augmentation of the faculties of mind such as love, compassion, courage, kindness, faith etc. etc.. Then only the individual can be considered as having a good mental health. When that results, the Manomaya kosa of the individual gets a boost. Similarly yoga vidya also improves the intellectual faculties of an individual such as grasping power, faculties for analysis, synthesis, deduction, creativity, communicative skill, aesthetic sense, skill for interpretation etc. etc. In the more advanced stage intellectual capabilities of one practicing yoga can reach the level of that of the great “Rishis” whose intellect is usually termed as “Maneesha” in Sanskrit. Hence integrated personality development encompasses development of the physical, mental, and intellectual aspects of the individual and then leads to the supreme level of “Sachidananda”. What exactly is this sachidananda cannot be expressed in words. That state is beyond words. It can only be experienced. Once experienced one will know that is ones true nature, and dwelling constantly in that state is what is called “Moksha”. Ultimate objective of Yoga Vidya is the dawning into that level of consciousness as that of Moksha

2. Building up of an enlightened society.

Normally when we hear the word society the idea that comes to our mind is that of the human society. But in Yoga Vidya the term is considered in a more wider perspective. The word ‘Society’ should bring under its purview all living and non-living things of this universe. No doubt a human being is the basic unit of the society. Then our concept of society should grow into family, village, town , city, country and the whole world! Building up of the enlightened society should not be limited to a family or village or country rather it should cover the whole world. There is a balance which is being maintained by the different living and non living things in this universe. Our development should not upset this natural balance. The concept of a society first starts from the family. Hence our family should first be made enlightened. If at least one member of the family earnestly practices Yoga vidya it will definitely have an impact on the family. It will create positive vibrations in the family atmosphere. Sooner or later other members will also will be attracted to Yoga. This in turn will enhance the the mental and intellectual capabilities of the family members. Interpersonal relations improve in the family which in turn augments their sense of co-opeartion and co-existence in controlling and co-ordinating the resources of the family. Naturally material prosperity results. When a particular family in a village registers such a positive growth in all aspects, other families also try to follow suit resulting in the village becoming popular in the town or city adjacent to it. This example spreads into the whole country in a similar fashion.

For spreading this style of living the forerunners of Yoga Vidya have an important role to play. They should be prepared to function as messengers of a good code of conduct, and their dharmic sense should be above board and exemplary. In this context we must understand that individual capabilities have got a limit. But when like minded individuals join into an organization and tries to carry out a mission commonly endorsed by them, the synergic effect of the same will be much more than their individual capabilities put together. Yogic view of life or Yoga darsan or Purushartha Jeevitha Darsan should be spread through out the world so that we will be able to solve all problems of the world, distribute the resources among all people equitably, and make the world tension free. All types of wars will end and a holy understanding will prevail among countries of the world. In fact this world has got immense resources for all of us to live happily throughout our life. But some countries have cornered these resources to the detriment of the others, due to their lack of faith in themselves and in their fellow beings. We have to free ourselves from this narrow minded approach if real peace is to remain in this world. We have to enlighten ourselves through noble practices like Yoga Vidya so that this world becomes a more peaceful place to live in. In this context it is essential to note the oft quoted watch word of Acharyas which is quite applicable to Yoga Vidya “ Khrunnumtho Viswam Aryam” meaning “Make this world great”

3. For total success in life :

Yoga Vidya gives due importance to the worldly life of an individual. For total success in life, success of an individual in his avocation, family life, social life, health and longevity etc. are all equally important along with his spiritual advancement and realization with the ultimate reality. That is why Yoga Vidya guarantees both “Sreyas “ and “ Preyass” for its ardent sadhakas. The beauty of the system is that there is clear cut plan and action programme for the attainment of the goals in these two aspects of an individual life viz spiritual and material.

4.As a complete solution for all types of problems and difficulties:

Our ancient teachers broadly viewed problems faced by humanity through two angles. The first one tries to focus the attention on the causes of problems and the second one on where exactly a problem props up. Regarding causes they are mainly of three types viz. “Adyatmika” , “Adhi Bowthika” and “Adhi Daivika”. Of these “Adyathmika” points towards those problems or difficulties faced by an individual whose reasons can be attributed to the individual himself. Here the action or inaction of the individual may have caused the problems. In the case of “Adhi Bowthika” other living beings in this world causes the problems. This includes other human beings or any other living things belonging to the animal and plant world, either jointly or severally. Lastly in the case of “Adhi Daivika” the reasons for the problems may emnate from the action of natural or super natural forces existing in this universe.

Based on where exactly a problem props up, they can be classified as follows:-

i . Problems of the physical body eg. Diseases, deformities etc.
ii. Mental problems Eg. Depression, various phobias etc.
iii. Intellectual problems Eg. Disparities in intellect among various groups
iv. Spiritual problems Eg. Different approaches of various religious groups
v. Family problems Eg. Interpersonal relationship problems
vi. Social problems Eg. Disparities in income, male predominance etc.
vii. NationalproblemsEg.Divisive tendencies based on language, religion, caste etc.
viii. World Problems Eg. Terrorism, global warming etc.

Practice of Yoga vidya makes an individual to have a proper perspective of all these problems and offers apt remedies for solving them. How this is achieved is explained elsewhere in this chapter.

How the practice should get started: As has been explained this is divine knowledge that has been passed on to us by the Almighty through great sages several thousand years before. Innumerable technical words originated in Sanskrit are to be understood in their proper perspective to have a clear idea of what exactly the ancient teachers meant by them, rather than guided by their current usages in various other languages. Hence it is very essential to learn the technique through a teacher who has been trained in the traditional manner. This knowledge has been acquired by the sages through a lot of penance, strenuous practice and contemplation which has caused the development of right intuition in them. They are well aware of the pits and falls on the path of spiritual unfoldment and hence they will be able to guide and groom the practitioners in the proper fashion. Hence for learning the technique, institutions like Siva Sakthi Yoga Vidya Kendra should be approached because they will be carrying the torch of tradition for passing on the knowledge to the future generations.

Initial Prayers and Santhi Mantras : It has been the practice followed in ancient India to start any noble function by praying to the Almighty for his blessings so that success results . Reciting of mantras mainly aims for the blessings of God. Apart from that it aims at perfect harmony among fellow human beings, animals and plants and even natural and supernatural forces .

Present trends in the practice of the technique : Institutions which train the aspirants in the proper way are in fact very few in number. Unfortunately those which misguide people are innumerable. Among them even those who do not recognize God teach the technique. Then there are some institutions which give thrust to certain aspects of the technique and ignore the rest, to suit their requirements. Accordingly there are yoga centres which function as beauty clinics, does the function of gymnasiums, health clinics etc. Such centres are in fact aberrations from the technique of Yoga Vidya.

A Great  Story of a Great Man.... You must read this ................................
Stephen William Hawking
Stephen William Hawking was born on 8 January 1942 (300 years after the death of Galileo) in Oxford, England. His parents' house was in north London, but during the second world war, Oxford was considered a safer place to have babies. When he was eight, his family moved to St. Albans, a town about 20 miles north of London. At the age of eleven, Stephen went to St. Albans School and then on to University College, Oxford; his father's old college. Stephen wanted to study Mathematics, although his father would have preferred medicine. Mathematics was not available at University College, so he pursued Physics instead. After three years and not very much work, he was awarded a first class honours degree in Natural Science.
Stephen then went on to Cambridge to do research in Cosmology, there being no one working in that area in Oxford at the time. His supervisor was Denis Sciama, although he had hoped to get Fred Hoyle who was working in Cambridge. After gaining his Ph.D. he became first a Research Fellow and later on a Professorial Fellow at Gonville and Caius College. After leaving the Institute of Astronomy in 1973, Stephen came to the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics in 1979, and held the post of Lucasian Professor of Mathematics from 1979 until 2009. The chair was founded in 1663 with money left in the will of the Reverend Henry Lucas who had been the Member of Parliament for the University. It was first held by Isaac Barrow and then in 1669 by Isaac Newton.  He is currently the Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology, at DAMTP in Cambridge.
Stephen Hawking has worked on the basic laws which govern the universe. With Roger Penrose he showed that Einstein's General Theory of Relativity implied space and time would have a beginning in the Big Bang and an end in black holes. These results indicated that it was necessary to unify General Relativity with Quantum Theory, the other great Scientific development of the first half of the 20th Century. One consequence of such a unification that he discovered was that black holes should not be completely black, but rather should emit radiation and eventually evaporate and disappear. Another conjecture is that the universe has no edge or boundary in imaginary time. This would imply that the way the universe began was completely determined by the laws of science.
His many publications include The Large Scale Structure of Spacetime with G F R Ellis, General Relativity: An Einstein Centenary Survey, with W Israel, and 300 Years of Gravity, with W Israel. Stephen Hawking has three popular books published; his best seller A Brief History of Time, Black Holes and Baby Universes and Other Essays, The Universe in a Nutshell, and most recently in 2010, The Grand Design. There are .pdf and .ps versions of his full Publication list
Professor Hawking has twelve honorary degrees. He was awarded the CBE in 1982, and was made a Companion of Honour in 1989. He is the recipient of many awards, medals and prizes, is a Fellow of The Royal Society and a Member of the US National Academy of Sciences.
Stephen Hawking continues to combine family life (he has three children and three grandchildren), and his research into theoretical physics together with an extensive programme of travel and public lectures.

Communication system
Stephen William Hawking  Said:-

"I communicate with a computer system. I have always used IBM compatible computers, on my wheel chair. They run from batteries under the wheel chair, although an internal battery will keep the computer running for an hour if necessary. The screen is mounted on the arm of the wheel chair where I can see it, more recent systems have the whole computer in a box on this arm. The original systems were put together for me by David Mason, of cambridge Adaptive Communication. This company manufacture and supply a variety of products to help people with communication problems express themselves. Recently, Intel engineers designed a new computer for me powered by a Pentium II processor, which I now use.

On the computer, I run a program called Equalizer, written by a company called words plus inc. A cursor moves across the upper part of the screen. I can stop it by pressing a switch in my hand. This switch is my only interface with the computer. In this way I can select words, which are printed on the lower part of the screen. When I have built up a sentence, I can send it to a speech synthesizer. I use a separate synthesizer, made by Speech+. It is the best I have heard, though it gives me an accent that has been described variously as Scandinavian, American or Scottish. I also can use Windows 98 through an interface called EZ Keys, again made by words plus. I am able to control the mouse with the switch through cleverly selected process from a small box shown on the desktop. I can also write text using similar menu's to those in Equalizer. I can save what I write to disk. I write papers using a formatting program called TEX. I can write equations in words, and the program translates them into symbols, and prints them out on paper in the appropriate type. I can also give lectures. I write the lecture beforehand, and save it on disk. I can then send it to the speech synthesiser, a sentence at a time. It works quite well, and I can try out the lecture, and polish it, before I give it. "

Autobiography of a Yogi

Autobiography of a Yogi is the most popular of Yogananda’s books. In 1999 it was designated as one of the "100 Most Important Spiritual Books of the 20th Century" by a panel of theologiens and luminaries convened byHarper Collins publishers.
Mahaavatar babaji
Yogananda was a young boy when he met many of India’s greatest sages. The book Mejda: The Family and Early Life of Paramahansa Yogananda, written by his younger brother Sananda Lal Ghosh, sheds much light on the depth of his spiritual attainment well before his graduation from high school and his training with his guru, Sri Yukteswar.
Lahiri Mahasaya
An authoritative text on the spiritual science of yoga (not merely the Hatha Yoga postures so familiar in the West), the book is not so much a year by year chronicle of Yogananda's life, as it is a study of meditation and yoga, and the saints who had a profound influence on his life

Swami Yuktheswar Giri
The story of Yogananda's meeting and relationship to his guru, Sri Yukteswar, is highlighted throughout Autobiography of a Yogi, along with the importance of the guru-disciple relationship. The chapter "Years in My Master's Hermitage" is the longest in the book. The importance that Yogananda gave to that relationship is made clear by the very first paragraph of his autobiography:

Paramahamsa Yogananda
The characteristic features of Indian culture have long been a search for ultimate verities and the concomitant disciple-guru relationship. My own path led me to a Christlike sage whose beautiful life was chiseled for the ages. He was one of the great masters who are India’s sole remaining wealth. Emerging in every generation, they have bulwarked their land against the fate of Babylon and Egypt.

REBIRTH

REBIRTH & REINCARNATION

"Reincarnation is believed to occur when the Soul or spirit, after the Death of the body, comes back to life in a new form, such as another animal or anthing that is living. However, once born sometime things from a person's previous life are forgotten. This doctrine is a central tenet within the majority of Indian religions  traditions , such as Hinduism, Jainism and Sikkim  the Buddhist concept of rebirth is also often referred to as reincarnation".

The Common word used for the doctrine of rebirth is ‘Punarjanam’. In Sanskrit ‘Punar’ or ‘Puna’, means, ’next time'or ‘again’ and ‘Janam’ means ‘life’. Therefore ‘Punarjanam’ means ‘next life’ or ‘the life hereafter’. It does not mean coming to life on earth again and again as a living creature. If one reads many of the references to Punarjanam in Hindu Scriptures besides the Vedas, keeping the life in the hereafter in mind, one gets the concept of the next life but not of rebirths or of life again and again. This is true for several quotations of the Bhagvad Gita and Upanishad which speak of Punarjanam. This concept of repeated births or of cycle of rebirth was developed after the Vedic period. This doctrine was included by humans in subsequent Hindu scriptures including the Upanishad, Bhagvad Gita and the Puranas in a conscious attempt to rationalize and explain the differences between different individuals at birth and the different circumstances in which people find themselves in, with the concept that Almighty God is not unjust. So to say that since God is not unjust the inequalities and differences between people are due to their deeds in their past live.

The law of karma explains why people are reborn into the samsaric realm, and is also the basis for determining how this occurs. Karma literally means 'action', and refers to the things we do. However, karma is also to do with looking at how someone has lived their whole life too. For instance, someone might have spent their whole life indulging in worldly pleasures, which although not deemed wrong by Hindus, shows that they love the things of this world rather than any other. So the law of karma will naturally lead them to be reborn into the world (again), whereas someone who has spent most of their life dwelling on more spiritual things will begin to progress on from this.Hindus believe that people remain on the cycle of samsara (birth, death, rebirth), because they are ignorant of their true (divine) nature. Naturally, this implies that once someone begins to realise, accept and embrace who they really are, that they will begin to progress towards God

Death, according to Hinduism, is a series of changes through which an individual passes. Hinduism speaks of the four courses that men follow after death. The first, called devayana, way of the gods, is followed by spiritually advanced souls who lead an extremely pure life, devoting themselves to wholehearted meditation on Brahman, but who have not succeeded in attaining complete Self-knowledge before death. They repair to Brahmaloka, the highest heaven, and from there in due course attain liberation. The second course, known as pitriyana, way of the fathers, is followed by ritualists and philanthropists who have cherished a desire for the results of their charity, austerity, vows, and worship. Following this path, they repair to Chandraloka, the lunar sphere, and after enjoying immense happiness there as a reward for their good actions, they return again to earth since they still have earthly desires. The third course, which leads to hell, is followed by those who led an impure life, performing actions forbidden by the scriptures. They are born in sub-human species. After expiating their evil actions, they are again reborn on earth in human bodies. The fourth course is for those who are extremely vile in their thoughts and actions. They are reborn again and again as insignificant creatures such as mosquitoes and fleas. Eventually, after the expiation of their evil actions, they too return to human bodies on earth. When a soul assumes a human body, it takes up the thread of spiritual evolution of its previous human birth and continues to evolve toward Self-knowledge. According to Hinduism, all souls will ultimately attain Self-knowledge.

Rebirth of  Kalpana

Chawla???

Khurja (Uttar Pradesh), July 07: A four-year-old girl who claims her name is Kalpana Chawla and that she died up in the skies four years ago is drawing huge crowds in a village here in Uther Predesh. Residents of Nar Mohammadpur village, about 35 km from here, where little Upasana is visiting her relatives, think she might be the reincarnation of the India born astronaut Kalpana Chawla, who died when US space shuttle Columbia crashed four years ago.

The news of the girl's claim spread quickly in the area after she spoke to some villagers here.

'I am Kalpana Chawla,' says Upasana, who reportedly fears the sight an aircraft. She has been telling her illiterate parents that she died in a 'crash' up in the skies.

'Upasana has been telling us ever since she started speaking that her name was Kalpana Chawla and that her father's name was Banarsi Das Chawla but we could not figure out anything as we had never heard of Kalpana,' Upasana's father Raj Kumar told reporters Friday.

Raj Kumar is a resident of Pata village of Etawah district where he works as a labourer.

'Yet Upasana's proclamation led us all to believe that she was actually talking about her previous birth,' he said. 'She claims that the spacecraft was hit by a huge ball of ice that sent it crashing and ended her life.'

Upasana was born barely two months after the astronaut's death in 2003.

Sathyam ! Sivam ! Sundaram !

Here SAI BABA says about his REBIRTH> Read it>

 Sathya Sai Baba (1926 – 24 April 2011 )

Who is Pream Sai
Sathya Sai Baba says that He is the second of a triple incarnation. The first was Shirdi Sai Baba and the third will be Prema Sai Baba. Below, we give the information that is known about Prema Sai Baba, with references to the sources.

The first mention of Prema Sai by Sathya Sai Baba appears to be in the discourse Shiva Shakthi,  6 July 1963,  In a conversation between Shiva Shakthi, and Bharadwaja after Bharadwaja performed a ritual, Shiva said that
they would take human form and be born in the Bharadwaja lineage, thrice: Shiva alone as Shirdi Sai Baba, Shiva and Shakthi together at Puttaparthy as Sathya Sai Baba, and Shakthi alone as Prema Sai, later.
More information about Prema Sai
Sathya Sai Baba said in this discourse of 9 September 60 (Chapter 31 of Sathya Sai Speaks volume 1):
I will be in this mortal human form for 59 years more and I shall certainly achieve the purpose of this avatar; do not doubt it. I will take My own time to carry out My Plan so far as you are concerned. I cannot hurry because you are hurrying.
I may sometimes wait until I can achieve ten things at one stroke; just as an engine is not used to haul one coach, but awaits until sufficient haulage in proportion to its capacity is ready. But My Word will never fail; it must happen as I will.
We have heard often that Prema Sai will be born eight years after the passing of Sathya Sai Baba, which will take place when Sathya Sai Baba is 96. In "The Sai Trinity", by Dr. S.P. Ruhela (Taring paperbacks, Vikas Publishing House Pvt Ltd, New Delhi, 1997), the author states that Sathya Sai Baba has been disclosing small amounts of information to close devotees from time to time and states that Sai Baba has predicted that Prema Sai will be born in Karnataka about 8 years after He leaves this body.
Howard Murphet, in his book Sai Baba: Invitation to Glory (Chapter 4), says that
Finally, Sathya Sai states, there will be Prema Sai who, one year after the passing of the Sathya Sai form, will be born in Karnataka (the old Mysore State), at a place between Bangalore and the city of Mysore.
On page 16 of the book Living Divinity author Shakuntala Balu writes,
Sri Sathya Sai Baba has said that there will be one more Sai Avatara called Prema Sai. The third Sai will be born in Gunaparthi, a village in the Mandya district of Karnataka. Thus, Sri Sathya Sai Baba refers not only to his past, but also to the future form he will assume as Prema Sai.
In Sathya Sai Baba, The Embodiment of Love, by Peggy Mason and Ron Laing, the authors write about a discussion they had about Prema Sai.
We wondered if the next descent as Prema Sai, to come very quickly after the present form is vacated at the age of ninety six, would be female. Baba replied, "No, male, in Mysore -- Karnataka." (Since 1972, the state of Mysore is called Karnataka.)
In Glimpses of the Divine: Working with the Teachings of Sai Baba" (1993), author Birgitte Rodriguez writes
In a more private talk to students in recent years, Baba told them that the father of His next incarnation, as Prema Sai, had been born in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. He also said that the body of Prema Sai was in the process of being formed.
The missions of the triple incarnations
In Spirit and the Mind, by Sam Sandweiss, the author recounts an extended interview given by Sathya Sai Baba to the Senior Editor, Mr. R.K. Karanjia, of Blitz new magazine in September 1976.
Question: Why had this task to be divided into three separate incarnations of the Shirdi, Sathya, and Prema Baba? Baba: They are not separate. I have already mentioned the complete oneness of the three in the final objective of the mission. ... Their tasks and powers requisite to them differ according to the time, the situation, and the environment. But they belong to, and derive from, the same divine body (dharma swarup).
...
The previous Avatar, Shirdi Baba, laid the base for secular integration and gave mankind the message of duty as work. The mission of the present Avatar is to make everybody realize that the same God or divinity resides in everyone. People should respect, love, and help each other irrespective of color or creed. Thus, all work can become a way of worship. Finally, Prema Sai, the third Avathar, will promote the evnagel news that not only does God reside in everybody, but everybody is God. That will be the final wisdom that will enable every man and woman to go to God.
The three Avatars carry the triple message of work, worship, and wisdom.
In John Hislop's My Baba and I, page 55-56, Hislop writes about Swami materializing a ring for Hislop with Prema Sai on it. The image of Prema Sai on the ring actually changed its position over the years. Hislop writes,

The stone was a cameo of Prema Sai, the loving Lord of Creation, destined to appear on Earth a few years after the death of the Sathya Sai Body. It was a brownish stone, highly glazed, sculptured in profile, the bridge and length of the nose visible with a suggestion of the arch of the left eye. It was a noble head with shoulder-length hair, moustache, and beard; the head resting on, or emerging from, a lotus flower. His countenance was tranquil, peaceful, majestic.

Baba said, "He is only now in the process of birth, so I cannot show more of him. This is the first time he is shown to the world."

...

Wherever I go, devotees ask to see the ring. ... In a year or so, those devotees who had seen the ring sometime earlier said something surprising on seeing it again. They said, "It is turning. The whole nose can be seen now."

My reply was always, in truth, that I could see no change. But they said, "You see it every day and do not notice."

... One day, [in 1980], at a devotee meeting, I was showing the ring, and I looked at it carefully. It struck me, "It is different! It is changing!.

Now the entire nose is there and visible, whereas at first the entire nose was not visible -- or better to say the nose merged into the edge of the stone and did not appear to be fully visible. But now there is a space between the nose and the edge of the stone. Moreover, a portion of the left eye can be seen and also a portion of the left cheek.

Siddhashram

 AN ARTICLE ABOUT SIDDHASHRAM

Siddhashram is a boon, bestowed upon mankind, from our ancestors, saints, sages & Yogis of high order. This is synonymous to a paradise on the earth and finds its mention in "Rigveda", the oldest scripture of human civilization. A saint, revealing his expressions in Rigvedic hymns says, "Sometime or the other, when the most auspicious moment of my life arrives, I will certainly be able to enter Siddhashram and to perform the Sadhna practices of high order by sitting on its sacred ground". Not only in Rigveda but also in Samveda, Maharishi Yogandharwa, while expliciting his sentiments says, "Where the soil is worth applying on the forehead just like sandal wood paste, where each and every particle is replete with penance and the wind is pious and melodious, the same abode of the blessed is the final destination of a human being where just by sitting, the real bliss of the life can be attained".
Siddhashram has been described in hundreds of ancient scriptures. Maharishi Vashistha called it the fortune of man whereas Vishwamitra termed it as the real beauty of life. According to Maharishi Chyavan, there is a natural characteristic in the soil of Siddhashram to eliminate spontaneously the ailments of the body. Maharishi Pulastya says it is the dream of life and Kanad praising it says,"Only one or two among a thousand saints are fortunate enough to get the privilege of entering into Siddhashram". Bhishma, lying on the bed of arrows expressed his last wish before Lord Krishna that he wanted to go to Siddhashram with his mortal body. Yudhistir also, after the end of Mahabharat war, requested, Lord Krishna with joined palms, "If some of the virtues of my life are left and if you bestow your grace upon me, I wish to spend some part of my life in Siddhashram". Gorakhnath, addressing his disciples said, "The ultimate of Tantra and Sadhnas is the entrance into Siddhashram". At one place, Bhagvatpad Shankaracharya has said, "The fulfillment of human life can only be attained when one goes to Siddhashram and takes a holy dip in Siddhyoga lake".
Indeed this Siddhashram has been a dream for thousands of Yogis and aspirants. Their last wish has been to spend some moments in Siddhashram where each and every particle is pious due to the penance done by high ordered Yogis, where the sacred, pure and divine "Siddhayoga lake" shimmers continuously. It has unique therapeutic properties and therefore a mere dip in it, not only cures all ailments but also confers divinity upon that person by thoroughly cleansing the mind of impure, negative thoughts and consequently the person attains a higher elevation. The weather in this Ashram remains exhilaratingly pleasant throughout the year and this divine Ashram is free from the cycles of age, time and death. No ailment of any kind can prevail here and every moment of it is full of joy, delight, beauty and bliss.
The management of this Siddhashram is under the guidance of the universally venerated Yogiraj Swami Satchidanandji, who even after having attained the age of several thousand years is still full of eternal Youth and whose eyes are oceans of mercy. The divine rays of penance, emanating from his body intermingle with the atmosphere of Siddhashram and the mere sight of his divine body is keenly wished even by the Gods, to make their lives supremely blessed. Inspite of having the age of several thousand years only three disciples have received Dikshas from him.
In this Ashram, the Yogis, ascetics and aspirants aged thousands of years are engaged in penance. Even today the great seers like Maharishi Vashishtha, Vishwamitra, Kanad, Pulastya, Atri, Bheesma, Kripacharya, Gorakhnath and Shankaracharya can be seen wondering there in physical form and also one can have the privilege of listening to their sermons. The mere touch of their divine hands initiates the flow of a divine current into the body and due to this Shaktipaat (energizing process) the entire body of the aspirant turns sacred and full of radiance.
All the time heavenly maidens wander here and the nymphs of heaven like Rambha, Menaka and Urvashi consider themselves fortunate on performing their dance at this place, where each moment is full of ecstasy, bliss, joy and enthusiasm.
It is not possible to get an aerial view of this Ashram from an aeroplane. This Ashram occupying an area of several hundred kilometres is situated in the north-east of Mansarowar and is an abode of unique Yogis. At some places, Yogis are engaged in penance and at other places, Yogis are teaching the intricacies and minute points of Sadhna to their disciples. Some Yogis are seen entranced and also some some celibates are performing Yagya. Somewhere else, the recitation of Vedas by learned Maharishis is going on and the sermons of Brahmarishis is enjoyed by thousands of Yogis. The heavenly maidens fully ornamented are seen wandering and at some places, various young and beautiful heavenly dancers are presenting their outstanding dances and Yogis are seen doing Sandhya Vandana in Siddhyoga Lake at some distance from them. Pretty maidens are seen bathing and throwing water on each other and frolicking in the pure and sparkling water of the lake. Aspirants are seen enjoying boating in the boats of rock crystal. Few maidens are engrossed in conversation and the entire atmosphere is enveloped by enthusiasm, joy, bliss and delight. There is no pain and suffering of any kind and each aspirant's face is devoid of any expression of tension. No one has any sorrow and this way, there is eternal ecstasy, bliss and joy all around in this Ashram.
The weather remains exhilaratingly pleasant in Siddhashram as it is free from the cycles of the seasons. The rain comes with pleasant drizzling. Roses of hundred varieties and also other flowers of different kinds keep blooming here all around the year. Due to a protective shield set up by the powers of penance, there is no entrance of death, consequently no flower gets withered or plucked from its stalk. The green velvety grass covering the ground of Siddhashram appears like a green carpet. There are thousands of varieties of fruit bearing trees and it is hard to believe that there can be so many innumerable fruits. Chirping sound of the birds creates a lovely atmosphere in itself.
At some distance from the hermitage of Paramhans Swami Satchidanandji, the world famous 'Kalp Vriksha' stands bloomed to its full maturity, sitting beneath which, fulfils immediately every wish and any materialistic article can be obtained within the blinking of an eye. Several straw huts constructed near by this hermitage gives an idea of the appearance of hermitages of our ancient sages. In these straw huts, the Yogis of high order sit in the state of Samadhi or remain fully absorbed in their Sadhna practices. Since three or four hundred years some Yogis are entranced and are lost in inexhaustible bliss. The beating hearts of such Yogis is the only evidence of their being alive. Even the sight of these Yogis is inaccessible and it is quite enthrilling to have a glimpse of their radiant faces and bodies which are full of serenity.
There are no prohibitions or restrictions in this Ashram. Each aspirant is free and at liberty. Nevertheless every one seems to be bound by some unknown law, therefore, each one keeping within his limits is engrossed in his duties. There is no malice, illwill, jealousy or hypocrisy. All are lost in themselves and are busy in meditating to reach the heights of Sadhna. Inspite of being at liberty all are under the control of some unsaid law and regulation.
It is very arduous to enter Siddhashram as there are five eligibility criteria which are essential for gaining entrance into this Ashram.
1. The aspirant must have awakened his Kundalini upto 'Sahastrar' , (thousand petalled lotus inside the brain which is the seat of infinite consciousness).
2.. Must have mastered at least two Mahavidyas and also have thorough knowledge of the remaining eight Mahavidyas.
3. Must have acquired the methodical knowledge of Tantra as well as of Mantra.
4. Must be noble, simple and must have totally adopted the Indian culture.
5. Must be the disciple of such a Guru, Yogi, ascetic or person, who himself has entered Siddhashram.
After attaining all these five criteria, the aspirant can gain entrance into Siddhashram. For this purpose, it is also essential that the aspirant while being excellent in the field of Sadhna practices, must also have great devotion and faith for his Guru. A Guru can't take his disciple with him into this Ashram unless he himself has entered Siddhashram and also has got permission from the senior Yogis of Siddhashram to take his disciple along with him....
